Home Educated Children’s Writing Clubs

We now have two writing clubs for home-educated children. We have one group aimed at older children (10 plus) and another for 7-10 year olds.

7-10 year old’s Writing Club

In this informative and fun writing club, the overall aim is to encourage a love of storytelling and writing. With plenty of formats on offer, such as comic books, poetry, short stories, flash fiction, world-building, FanFiction, journalling, scriptwriting and much more, there will be something for everyone.

Where; The Red House Museum, (Sue Wickham room upstairs) Christchurch

When; Wednesdays, 1pm-2pm

February/March dates;

26th Feb, 4th March, 11th March, 18th March, 25th March, 1st April

Cost; £4 per child per session payable half-termly in advance

Older Children’s Writing Club

The sessions for this club are one and a half hours long and will take place at New Milton library on Monday mornings, 10.30am until 12pm. We will be focusing on the vital elements of storytelling. Plotting, characterisation and dialogue, setting and location, narrative voice, literary devices, pace, structure and editing. The long-term aim is to put a collection together for publication.
